For the rest, take 2 days of rest to relax and re-energize the muscles. Please give yourself a plan to practice science.

Whether you are going for a marathon or you simply practice running for health reasons, getting the right nutrition and nutrition before your run is still something you should pay attention to.

Essential running gear for training

In previous posts, WellTraining has covered running planning and diets for runners. In this article, we will focus on essential running gear.

1. Running shoes – the most essential running gear

First and foremost running accessory – a perfect running shoe. Each sport has its own specialized footwear. Unlike gym shoes or tennis shoes, running shoes are tailored to support, cushion and protect runners’ feet.

Usually, each person’s feet have their own unique characteristics and the way they move their feet is also different. The purpose of running shoes is to give the foot the most natural running shape. Therefore, we should choose shoes that help support the specific movement of the foot.

A few notes when choosing shoes:

  • Determine for yourself or have a store counselor determine the arch type and tilt of your feet when you land.
  • Determine how much cushion your shoes need. However, it should be noted that shoes with high cushioning are not better for preventing injury than shoes with low padding. Choose shoes that are comfortable for the feet when testing.
  • Double-check the shoe size. Running shoes are usually wider than office or play shoes. When choosing shoes, the distance between the toe of the longest toe and the toe of the shoe should be about the width of the big nail.
  • Should try many different brands. Today, the quality of most shoe companies is not much different. The difference is fit. Some brands have wide toes and narrow heels, and some design shoes specifically for people with wide feet.

2. Clothing and other accessories

The next thing to note is definitely the clothes. Choosing clothes to wear when running is important in helping to resist scratches and blistering, able to drain moisture and keep the body safe and comfortable under the influence of the weather.

The general rule of thumb is to choose clothes that are made from materials that drain moisture and dry quickly. Avoid clothing and especially cotton socks/lingerie, because moisture (perspiration) is very attached.

  • Stockings:

This is probably the second most important accessory to help prevent blistering while running. Cotton socks, when sweat-soaked will get wet and rub against the skin, causing blistering. Therefore, we should prioritize the selection of socks made from good moisture-draining material.

  • Pants:

If we live in cold climates. You can choose loose pants or tight pants according to personal preference, but be careful not to cause scratches or blisters on the skin.

  • Short pants:

These should be pants that are made from a good moisture-draining fabric that avoids scratching and is lightweight. In addition, underwear is also an accessory we do not pay attention to when running because most jogging pants are equipped with underwear inside. Most pants or tights, however, don’t have undergarments, and choosing underwear made from a well-drained, well-ventilated fabric is very important in preventing scratches on the skin.

  • Running tops:

we pay special attention not to choose shirts made of cotton because when sweating or raining, the shirt will be very heavy and create an uncomfortable feeling. Cotton clothes will also retain water and make the body cold if running in the rain.

  • Running jackets:

A jacket is especially useful when it’s raining or cold. Running jackets are often designed to be breathable while still being waterproof.

  • Hat /glove/goggles:

Headwear and gloves are essential in areas with severe winters. These accessories will help absorb and drain sweat and prevent the body from feeling cold at the end of the run. Running glasses are an essential item when running in bright sunny conditions, creating a cool feeling for the eyes and of course giving you a more trendy image.

  • Knee braces:

They are home and outdoor running tools that you cannot ignore when shopping for a variety of running accessories. In particular, this type of accessory is more necessary than those who often run off-road or run long distances. A knee brace both limits damage to your leg when you fall, and also reduces pain as well as reduces pressure on the knuckle tendons below the knee.

3. Watches

When choosing to buy running watches, we need to identify the information we are interested in collecting to track during exercise.

  • To improve speed: choose a clock that shows your speed and distance
  • To exercise according to heart rate: choose a watch with a heart rate sensor or buy a chest strap connected to it.
  • If you need deeper parameters: choose gauges for parameters such as cadence speed, stride length, running capacity …
  • Just running and running: just use the circadian clock.

4. Water pitcher

One of the more running aids you should equip is a water pitcher. Like any other sport, running can dehydrate you a lot. Therefore, a water pitcher will help you replenish water as soon as needed.

In particular, a water bottle attached to a belt attached to you will be extremely compact and convenient for your running.

5. Towel – the last one of this running gear list

The next outdoor running gear you need to bring is a towel. When sweat is released, the towel will help remove them quickly to help you feel more comfortable during the exercise.

For the convenience of carrying when running outdoors, you should choose a small towel instead of a towel that is too large. The right towel material is usually cotton or polyester, which promises to bring a pleasant feeling to your skin.
